Alice Meissner is a double qualified attorney-at-law and partner at the law firm Fieldfisher based in Vienna. Ms. Meissner is admitted with the Vienna as well as the Munich Bar Association. She holds a doctoral degree in law from the University of Vienna as well as a graduate degree in law from the University of Hamburg. Alice has a well-established track record in advising Chinese investors with their post-M&A disputes in various industries. She has been acting as counsel in a number of commercial arbitration proceedings, under the arbitration rules of ICC, VIAC and CIETAC. She also acts as independent arbitrator and is Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (HKIArb). She advised CIETAC with their establishment of the CIETAC European Arbitration Centre in Vienna in 2018. She has been listed by the Chambers and Legal500 as key contact for China-related disputes. Alice Meissner has been appointed as Chair of ECAA.
Liyu (Denning) Jin is a Chinese lawyer based in Shanghai China practicing in complex commercial and financial litigation, international arbitration, large-scale litigation on torts, insurance litigation, patent litigation, IP-related antitrust litigation etc. Mr. Jin also serves as an arbitrator of China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission, Shanghai International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission, Arbitration Center Across the Straits, Hangzhou Arbitration Commission and Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (General Panel and IP Panel), and a CEPA Mediator of the CIETAC Investment Dispute Settlement Center.

Julie Raneda, FCIArb, is a partner in Schellenberg Wittmer’s international arbitration practice and the managing director of the Singapore office. She represents clients in international commercial and investment arbitration matters.
Julie has been involved as counsel and arbitrator in complex arbitrations seated in civil and common law jurisdictions under different laws and various arbitration rules (in particular ICC, SIAC, SCAI, UNCITRAL, CAS, VIAC). Her main areas of expertise include construction and engineering, energy, pharmaceutical/life sciences, fintech, distribution, manufacturing and international sales. She also advises clients on international trade sanctions.
Julie is the chair of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Singapore (SwissCham Singapore) and the co-chair of the ASA Asia chapter. Julie is also a member of the ICC Singapore Group (Empowerment Sub-Committee) and a member of HKIAC Proceedings Committee. She sits on the Faculty of the Delos ROAP (Remote Oral Advocacy Programme) Asia and is the co-founder of the Women’s Business Society established in Geneva in 2012. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
Colin Seow is a distinguished legal professional with experience sitting as presiding arbitrator, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in various arbitrations administered by the LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC and AIAC. He boasts over twelve years of judicial experience in the Singapore Supreme Court, and he brings with him expertise in alternative dispute resolution and mediation. He also appears as instructed counsel in commercial arbitration and litigation cases, specializing in complex international commercial cases. He has played a pivotal role in legal reforms, including contributions to the Singapore International Commercial Court and the drafting of procedural rules. Colin is also a member of the DIFC Courts Court Users’ Committee and a committee member of the Singapore Young Public International Law Group. He is qualified to practise law in Singapore, in England and Wales, in New York and before the DIFC Courts.
Jessica Fei is Partner of King&Wood Mallesons (KWM) in Beijing and Hong Kong and specializes in cross-border dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation practice. She is currently the joint global head of international arbitration practice of KWM, and a member of the firm’s DR management team in charge of cross-border disputes. Jessica is one of the very few leading international arbitration practitioners (acting as counsel and arbitrator) with mainland Chinese background and dual qualifications (Chinese and New York) as well extensive cross-border experience handling disputes between Chinese and foreign parties. Jessica has been involved in international arbitration work since 1994. She has about eight years of experience working as a case manager and research fellow with leading international arbitration institutions, including CIETAC in Beijing and the ICDR/AAA in New York, where she administered and coordinated more than 300 international arbitration and mediation cases. She represents and assists clients in international arbitrations (including AAA/ICDR, HKIAC, SIAC, ICC, CIETAC, LCIA, SCC, BAC and UNCITRAL). She handles disputes relating to energy, infrastructure and construction, trade, international investment (eg Sino-foreign joint venture disputes), merger & acquisition, manufacturing, distribution, and intellectual property matters among others. Jessica is particularly experienced in advising clients in foreign-related arbitrations in China and overseas arbitration and litigation.
Martin Schauer is Professor at the Institute for Civil Law, University of Vienna and titular member of the International Academy of Comparative Law in Paris. Before, he was Professor at Vienna University of Economics and Business and director of the Reseach Institute of Central and Eastern Europan Business Law. He was also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science and at Chuo University (Tokyo) and Visiting Lecturer at various universities (Cracow, Bratislava, Brno, Liechtenstein, Salzburg). Professor Schauer also was member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Max Planck Institute for comparative and international Private Law (Hamburg). His main areas of research are private business law, company law, succession and foundations, insurance law. Martin Schauer is co-editor and co-author of “Handbuch Schiedsrecht” (Handbook on Arbitration Law).
Reinhard Bork is Professor of Law at the University of Hamburg, where he is also Director of the Seminar for Civil Procedural Law. He was Dean of the Law Faculty in 1993/1994 and Vice Dean 2005-2010. Reinhard Bork has been further appointed as Professor for International Insolvency Law at Radboud University in Nijmegen for a period of two years. He acted as Professor of Law at University of Bonn and has been a Robert S. Campbell Visiting Fellow at Magdalen College Oxford. Further, he has served as a judge at the Upper State Court (Court of Appeal) in Hamburg in the Commercial Law Division with jurisdiction including patents and intellectual property rights.
Reinhard Bork studied law at the University of Münster/Westf., passing state examinations in 1980 and 1982. Law doctorate in 1984 and post-doctoral thesis (Habilitation) in 1988. He has been invited for talks and was Visiting Professor to various universities worldwide, among others National Taiwan University Taipei, Oxford University, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaiso, Tsinghua University Beijing, and has published extensively on civil and civil procedural law (including arbitration), insolvency law and commercial law. He has broad experience as an arbitrator in national and international cases since 1994.
Christoph Schreuer is working as an independent expert and arbitrator in investment cases – at the last count, in more than 50 major investment arbitrations. He is a member of the ICSID Panel of Conciliators and Arbitrators. Christoph Schreuer has an abundance of experience as arbitrator under the rules of ICSID and UNCITRAL. Also, he is the author of numerous expert opinions rendered in investment arbitrations. Christoph authored numerous books and articles in the field of investment arbitration, including “The ICSID Convention: A Commentary” (Cambridge University Press, First Edition in 2001; Second Edition in 2009; Third Edition in preparation) and “Principles of International Investment Law” (Oxford University Press, First Edition in 2008; Second Edition in 2012; with R. Dolzer; Third Edition in preparation). Most recently in 2020, he published the book “International Protection of Investments – The Substantive Standards” (Cambridge University Press, 2020; with A. Reinisch).
He is a graduate of the Universities of Vienna (Dr. iur. 1966), Cambridge (LL.M. 1970) and Yale (J.S.D. 1979). During his academic career he was a Professor of Law at the Universities of Salzburg, the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Vienna, as well as an Assistant Professor at the University of Graz.

Wenhua Shan graduated as a PhD from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, and currently works as Yangtze River Chair Professor of International Economic Law (by Ministry of Education, China). He is the Dean of both the School of Law and the School of International Education, Xi’an Jiaotong University. Professor Shan’s main field is international and comparative law, particularly commercial, investment, trade and arbitration laws. He has published over a dozen books by leading English and Chinese publishers including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and numerous articles in journals such the European Journal of International Law and American Journal of Comparative Law.
As a “State Distinguished Expert” selected by the Central Government of China, Expert Member of the Supreme People’s Court International Commercial Expert Committee, Conciliator of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Arbitrator of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Professor Shan has practiced international and Chinese laws since 1992. He has led a team to provide comprehensive support for the Chinese government on certain key investment treaty negotiations, and for CIETAC in the drafting of the CIETAC International Investment Arbitration Rules. He also frequently advises foreign governments, international organizations, and transnational corporations on international investment, trade and arbitration matters.
Professor Shan is Senior Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge, UK; a Titular Member of the International Academy of Comparative Law (IACL, The Hague); a Member of the American Law Institute. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Chinese Journal of Comparative Law (OUP); Editor-in-General of the “China and International Economic Law Series” (Hart) and “Silk Road Studies in International Economic Law” (Martinus Nijhoff/BRILL); and a Member of the Advisory Editorial Board of the ICSID Review: Foreign Investment Law Journal (OUP). He is also an Expert of the WEF/ICTSD E15 Task Force on Investment Policy, an International Advisor for the Fourth Restatement of the U.S. Foreign Relations Law, and a Core Adviser for the IBA Subcommittee on Investment Treaty Arbitration. Within China, he is the Executive President of the China International Investment Arbitration Forum (CIIAF), Vice President of the Chinese Society of International Economic Law (CSIEL); and an Executive Councilor of the Chinese Society of International Law. He also serves as the President of the Shaanxi Provicne Commission for the Selection and Disciplining of Judges and Prosecutors, Vice President of the Shaanxi Province Law Society. Professor Shan is among others a frequent speaker and has talked at the WTO Public Forum (Investment Facilitation), European Parliament (Testimony on EU-China investment treaty), International Congress of Comparative Law (General Report on the Protection of Foreign Investment), International Congress of Commercial Arbitration (investment treaty reform), Energy Charter Ministerial Conference (ISDS Reform), UNCTAD/APEC Regional IIA Training Course, Eastern Economic Forum.
Dorothee Ruckteschler is an independent arbitrator focusing on corporate law and post-M&A disputes, as well as complex commercial disputes. Prior to setting up her own arbitrator’s practice, she had for 20 years a leading role in the international arbitration practice of CMS. In this function, she was instrumental in the opening of CMS Germany’s Hongkong office specializing in arbitration in 2016. Dorothee has vast experience in all types of international arbitration involving parties from all over the world and a wide range of arbitration institutions. She has a deep intercultural understanding, developed not least during her extensive travels in China and through her position as Vice Chair of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the IPBA. She also is the Alternate German Member of the ICC Court of Arbitration since 2018.
Dorothee studied French at the University of Grenoble, France and is a graduate of the University of Freiburg (Dr jur 1987). She also was a Research Fellow at Harvard Law School.

Dr Nikolaus Pitkowitz is a founding partner and heads the Dispute Resolution practice group at Pitkowitz & Partners. He is also President of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC).
Dr Nikolaus Pitkowitz is one of the leading international practitioners in the field of Dispute Resolution. He has acted as party representative and arbitrator in well over 130 international arbitrations, ranging from small to multi-billion dollar cases, based in Europe, the USA and Asia. Dr. Pitkowitz has experience with various industries, such as energy and commodities, automotive, telecommunications, arts, (postal) M&A, as well as real estate and construction law. A Senior Counsel, Chartered Arbitrator and former Judicial Commissioner of the Singapore Supreme Court, Christopher Lau is recognised as “obviously one of the most experienced arbitrators in Singapore” (Chambers Global Guide 2019) and is ranked by Chambers & Partners as one of the Most In Demand Arbitrators in the Asia-Pacific Region. His arbitration practice encompasses investment as well as all aspects of commercial disputes including construction, corporate, energy, pharmaceuticals, maritime, aerospace, communications, insurance, military & defence procurements involving the laws of various common and civil law jurisdictions. Bernard Hanotiau is widely recognized as one of the most prominent international arbitration specialists worldwide. Prior to founding Hanotiau Tossens Goldman (Hanotiau Tossens Goldman | Partner – Bernard Hanotiau), he was a founder of Hanotiau & van den Berg in 2001. Bernard acts mainly as arbitrator but also as counsel and expert and has experience under all major international arbitration rules. Since 1978, he has been involved in more than six hundred international arbitration cases (commercial and investment) as party-appointed arbitrator, chairman, sole arbitrator, counsel and expert in all parts of the world and in all sectors of the industry including construction, distribution, energy, technology and telecommunications, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, mining and finance. Bernard is professor emeritus of the University of Louvain, Belgium. He is visiting professor at the NUS University of Singapore and honorary professor of the EPCL University in Shanghai. Jingzhou Tao is an independent arbitrator at Arbitration Chambers.
